Song meaning, decoded.
The song-meaning engine. Read line-by-line interpretation, themes and cultural context for any song, in your language — no full lyrics, just meaning.
What is Lyrithm?
Lyrithm is a song-meaning engine. Open any song page to read what the song is about, what themes it explores, what mood it carries, and what cultural references shape it — written in your language. No full lyrics, no scraping, just thoughtful interpretation.
How it works
-
Step 1Start with public metadata
Title, artist, album, year, genre. Nothing copyrighted goes into the pipeline.
-
Step 2AI-assisted editorial
Each interpretation is written in your language by an AI editorial pipeline (Claude). Regenerated as new context emerges.
-
Step 3Reviewed before publishing
Attribution, cultural sensitivity, fairness. Labelled "AI-assisted" inline on every page so you always know.
Why meaning, not lyrics
Lyrics are owned by music publishers and require licensing to display. Meaning — interpretation, themes, mood, context — is commentary, and commentary is protected. We chose this stance from day one: it's defensible legally (Indonesia UU 28/2014 Pasal 44; US fair-use four-factor analysis), fairer to songwriters, and frankly more interesting than another copy-pasted lyric page.
Frequently asked
What is Lyrithm?
A song-meaning engine. We publish interpretation, themes, mood, and cultural context for songs across 34 languages. We do not publish lyrics.
Do you have full lyrics?
No. By design. For licensed lyrics, see your streaming service. We focus on what the song means.
Are interpretations written by humans?
Interpretations are AI-assisted and clearly labelled on every page. We don't pretend otherwise.
How accurate are the meanings?
Interpretation is interpretation, not gospel. We aim for thoughtful, well-grounded readings. The song's "true meaning," if there is one, belongs to the songwriter.
What languages do you support?
The interface is in 34 languages. Meaning analyses are currently published in 6 (English, Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese) for every song. More languages rolling out.
Can you analyze any song?
The catalogue is small but growing. Songs not yet analysed in your language gracefully fall back to English.
Do you take down content if the artist asks?
Yes. See the DMCA page. Artists and rights holders can reach [email protected] — we acknowledge within 24 hours and act within 72.
Is this legal?
Yes. We publish commentary, which is protected under Indonesian fair-use (UU 28/2014 Pasal 44) and US fair-use four-factor analysis. We do not reproduce lyrics.
